Mapusaurus Rouage was a giant South American theropod dinosaur with blade-like teeth for slicing off chunks of sauropod flesh. At around 40 feet in length, Mapusaurus was one of the largest carnivorous dinosaur that ever existed. It is similar in size to the closely related Giganotosaurus but a couple of tonnes lighter. Fossils from at least seven individuals of various ages were discovered in a bone bed in Argentina. This may suggest they worked in groups to take down the largest sauropods of the time, such as the colossal Argentinosaurus, it was the first dinosaur of that size with evidence of pack hunting due to the fact that many individuals of many size and ages were found in the same location indicating a group. It was the last and the most advanced of its family Carcharodontosauridae.
