Similar to those of the modern day Angel Sharks and Sqautina, Jurassic Squatina were prime food for Plesiosaurs within the Sea. They show a keen resemblance to rays, with a flat streamline body this ambush predator lies under the sand in waiting. They also, like rays have their eyes above, and their mouth below there flat body. The scientific name for the modern day angel shark is squatina squatina.
